Today’s five minute friday prompt is “opportunity”.
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10
Loving one another and being kind is pretty much Christian living 101. We all know how we should treat each other. Do we do it?
My kids fight something terrible. Do you know why? They ae selfish. Yep, plain and simple.
Do you know why I usually become angry with my hubby? Because he isn’t doing things my way. AKA selfishness (or control freak lol).
Anyone relate?
Now, let’s take a look at Galatians. It says we should do good if we have opportunity. This opportunity should be all around us. Do we see it or do we only see ourselves?
Let me explain why I am pointing this out. I learned a lesson earlier this week.
My attitude was bad as I went through the normal mundane duties of taking care of kids. I felt unappreciated and unsettled. I was too busy cleaning up spilled milk and teaching geometric formulas to think about looking for an opportunity to do good to my family.
This left all of us unhappy.
When I did look for opportunities to show love to my family, do you know what happened? My attitude changed! I was no longer unsettled because I was no longer thinking about myself.
So, dear friends, I challenge you today. Look for the opportunity to do good for someone and watch the positive unfold!

Sometimes the good is hard to see
and painful hard to find.
The devil gets his victory,
and I can lose my mind.
They say each moment’s precious,
a chance not to be missed,
but sometimes it’s just vicious
and I speak then with my fist.
I know God’s represented
in every human face,
but often of the Splendid
there is no bloody trace.
I ask thus for God’s healing-breath
that I don’t punch the morons half to death.
