Life is better when we are Together

life is better when we are together

Few things make me happier than when my hubby, kids and I are all together. It doesn’t matter what we are doing, whether it be cleaning up the yard, playing board games, or each busy doing our own thing. As long as we are together, my life is simply better.

We just returned from a four day trip to an indoor waterpark. We played basketball in the hot tub, cruised down crazy water slides, jumped into large waves, and meandered down the lazy river. We had a blast!

I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. We laughed, we cried (yes, I deeply miss my Rebekah) but most of all, we simply enjoyed being together.

God is good to give me such a gift and my heart is overflowing with thankfulness.

So, dear friends, I challenge you today to take a look at the people in your life. Who makes your life better by simply being here with you? Who loves you, encourages you, or walks beside you? Do they know how much you appreciate them?

Give those people a hug or send a text and let them know how special they are to you. It will make their day because life is just better when we are together!

Today, I am participating in “Five Minute Friday” with Kate Motaung in which a word is chosen (today it is “better”) and posts are written based on that word.

  1. Ah yes… to be aware and vocal about the people who are among our greatest blessings is so vital! We need to know it and they need to know it! Great post… and sounds like a great vacation with family!

  2. I’m with you! There’s nothing better than being with my family! Our daughters, their husbands, our grandson, my parents, and one of my sisters were all together in the same place for two days. It was heavenly!

  3. this too is when I am my happiest. My kids, myself and my husband together. This hasn’t happened in a very long time (almost 9 years) and I doubt it will happen again. I am learning to live with that, but it is rough. I am so grateful to read about your joy and that place of “best” amidst your own family connection!

  4. Great post! Thanks for sharing!!! This year I am really trying to intentionally plan things for our family to do all together. I am noticing as my boys are getting older the less we do ALL together. Sure we still spend a lot of time together, but to involve all 4 of us in a fun activity is a rarity. So, the start of each season we are making a family adventure board (similar to a bucket list, but with adventure activities only). Our winter board has snowmobiling, downhill skiing, ice fishing, & Even Caves. Future lists: hiking, rafting, rappelling, rock climbing…..ooooh & maybe even skydiving! That would be fun!!!! Family time definitely makes everything better!

    1. Awesome idea, Penny! You know I’m always 5 years behind you so I will keep this in mind for the future. Not the skydiving part though…
