Confident in Love

Today’s Five Minute Friday word is “Confident”

This can be a tricky word. A confident person can come across as reassuring or stuffy. Sometimes we like confident people and sometimes we are envious of them.

I think it is a good one for me to consider this morning as I had an exhausting day yesterday. Valentine’s was my Rebekah’s favorite holiday and I miss her terribly. I cried pretty much all day.

So, let’s focus on a positive word-confident. We can feel confident about decisions, careers, and skills. We want our children to feel confident about themselves and to become independent, reaching for their goals.

Yesterday, at my lowest point, my sweet hubby took the boys shopping. They came home with giant smiles and hands full of flowers. If you’ve followed me for long, you know that I LOVE flowers. They brighten my day and my heart.

I am confident that I am loved.

And not just by my four active boys (and wonderful husband) but also by God. I think you can replace the word persuaded with confident in Romans 8:8.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I challenge you, dear friends, to embrace that love and rest in it.

  1. Heather, I am very glad to hear that your tears became smiles by your husband and son’s sweet gestures yesterday. I am confident in this…one sweet day God will wipe away all our tears. Much grace… #8 at Kate’s.
