Bible Coloring Pages for Kids to Grow Their Faith

Whether you are looking for coloring pages for Sunday school, kids clubs, or family devotions, these Bible coloring pages for kids go a long way in hiding God’s word in their hearts.

As a mama of five, I discovered a need for God coloring pages when trying to have family devotions. With a 9 year age difference between my oldest and my youngest, I found that the younger kids would become restless while I was reading and explaining scripture to the older ones.

Of course, it is important to take the time to expound on scripture and how it relates to our lives with our children but I didn’t want this teaching time to be lost either because of distraction or because it was over their heads. I have found that these Christian coloring pages for kids provide a visual to important concepts found in scripture and keep small hands busy.

BUT don’t be surprised if your older children want to color too! I have a wide variety of designs here so you can find the difficulty levels you need. Simple Bible coloring pages with few words and large pictures for younger kids as well as “wordier” Bible coloring pages for kids with more intricate designs for older ones.

In Deuteronomy God gives clear instructions to us parents.

Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. (Deuteronomy 11:18-19)

Our responsibility is to teach our children God’s truth, am I right? Life is busy and sometimes we become overwhelmed at the idea of getting everyone to sit down and study scripture together, but it doesn’t need to be complicated.

I interpret the above verses to mean that it should be a regular part of our everyday lives. Something that flows naturally. Daily verses on a topic or weekly memory verse challenges, Bible coloring page printables, worship songs on the way to sports.

It is going to look different for every family.

These are not limited to families! If you are looking for coloring pages for Sunday school, please feel free to print them out and use them however they fit your needs!

Last year we focused on a few character building activities in school with which I created Bible coloring pages for my kids. The focus was on being responsible for our words, actions, and attitudes. Bible Coloring Pages for Kids- Psalms

We’ve been studying the Psalms together as a family and I love they express feelings of all kinds. It has led to some great conversations.

For these Bible coloring page printables I’ve focused on the positive aspects of the Psalms. How God is our refuge, He protects us, and hears us when we pray. A wonderful way to hide God’s word in the hearts of your children or students! Also, wonderful verses for them to be thinking about and drawing them closer to their creator.

One Last Word on Growing Your Children’s Faith

I’ve asked myself a dozen times and asked God even more, “how do I grow my children’s faith?”. I don’t know that there is any awe inspiring, ground shaking answer.

Live your own faith out for them to see.

I don’t know if that simplifies things for you or complicates them, but it’s no secret that our kids learn best by example. Share Bible verses that stand out to you, pray with them, read scripture and inspiring stories of heroes of faith together.

My parents came to Christ when I was very young. Over the years, I watched God transform them as their faith grew. I watched them learn, grow in faith, and “work out their own salvation”. I am convinced that this is what grew my own faith. I saw God’s love, grace, and words in action.

When the time came for me to step out on my own into adulthood, I had an entire arsenal of faith building experiences that I had lived and witnessed. They were a part of me and held me through some very dark days that would come.

My hope for you is that you live out your faith for your children. The hope, struggles, and truth that this walk lays out for us are constant learning opportunities. They will teach your kids the right (and sometimes wrong!) attitudes and decisions that are natural to all of us and the guidance scripture provides for us in, well, life.

Ok, I got way off track! I pray these Bible coloring pages for kids are a helpful part of your children’s faith training!
